The Chicken Katsu sandwich was totally bussin vibes!! Full of flavor, great amount of chicken, and amazing texture. The service was very fast too. It took about 2-3 minutes for two sandwiches.

I CANNOT stop thinking about Kumo!!! I don't even know what to say except JUST GO! Can't wait to go back and try each and every item on the menu! Here's what we had: Strawberries & Cream Egg Salad Sando Menchi Katsu Chicken Katsu Green Tea Friendly counter service. Worth the wait, no matter short or long. The leftovers were even amazing the next day! Now I'm hungry again...

I stopped by Kumo today because I am missing Japanese 711 sandwiches SO much! I was so excited to find a sando shop in Mira Mesa! Kumo is tucked away in a shopping center at the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley part of San Diego. It's in the corner and you might miss it if you're not familiar with the location. I went during "happy hour" specifically for an egg salad sandwich. There were solid sando choices! I ordered right away and got my sando and oolong tea quickly. It was delicious! Not 100% like the Japan 711 sandwich but pretty darn close. The egg salad is a little denser and I think they use a kind of sourdough white bread instead of true white bread. I will definitely be back to try the other sando!! My reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the price, I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. It's a bit expensive for a smaller sandwich but happy hour prices help.

We tried the karaage chicken and the chicken katsu sando. They were crispy and juicy. It happened to be happy hour from 2-5pm when we arrived so the items we ordered were $2 off. $6 for the karaage chicken was a great deal! They gave a generous portion! The chicken katsu sando was $11. I'd love to try the egg salad and the fruit sando next time! It's a tiny place to

Kumo has been on my list for a while that I want to try because they serve traditional Japanese style sandwich. Finally one day I was in the area and felt like giving it a try. I was surprised that it's located in a "food court" that's inside a large shopping plaza in Mira Mesa. The store is to go only, but there are many tables outside to sit down and enjoy the sandwich. I tried their classic Chicken Katsu Combo with Green Tea. I was really surprised by the large portions with two scopes of side salads. The chicken kutsu sandwich was pretty good. Definitely have that authentic vibe. I loved that everything is freshly made. The sides were pretty good too. I had their Kani and potato salads. Honestly, I enjoyed the sandwich. This may not be everyday go to place, but definitely on my mind if I crave some classic Japanese sandwich.

Tried this restaurant with a friend for a casual lunch over the weekend! There was no wait, and the workers were really friendly. I ordered the Shrimp Katsu Combo with Kani Salad and Egg Salad as my sides. It was really tasty, but the sandwiches themselves were really small - they were pretty generous with the sides though. For a total of $16.50 before tax, I felt that it was a little pricey for the portion sizes. However, this menu is really unique and definitely worth a try still! I will be back to try their fruit sandwiches :) As a side note: be prepared to takeout or eat outside since they don't have indoor seating.

I came in during their week day happy hour special which is between 2-5pm and their sandos are reduced prices. I went for the egg salad sando which I loved! It there was so much filling which makes it all worth it of course and the seasoning was on point. It was the perfect balance between slighly salty and sweet from the milk bread. I grew up eating egg salad sandwiches and this one definitely hit the spot. Im excited to try other sandos next time! The staff was very sweet and communicative when they were not able to serve me right away but after my order was taken, it did not take long for them to put it together. There are no seats here, but there are outdoor tables for the "food court" they have at the plaza so you can still enjoy your food there.
